Boarding is a vital part of the Scots community for over a century. The College provides boarding in Sydney within a safe and nurturing environment where your son is supported to reach his full potential.
As a boarder, your son will stay at one of five boarding houses where he will be provided with strong pastoral care and individual attention, while experiencing the joys of being a part of his House ‘family’.

Casual Boarding
Casual or temporary boarding places are offered at the College subject to availability. This is offered particularly to Senior students from Year 10 and onwards where day students become boarders for a term or Semester for focussed study and access to residential House tutors who are also qualified Senior School teachers.

International Students
International students are a valued part of our Scots community and have an incredible breadth of experience to share. Our international exchange programs are popular with students as they provide understanding of other cultures and a broader world view.
For international students who require boarding, families can be assured that their son will be well cared for as he joins his assigned boarding House family. Under the watchful eye of his teachers and House tutor he will be guided and supported every step of the way.
Scot boarders enjoy living in a secure, quiet study environment which is only ten minutes away from the centre of Bondi Junction.

Scholarships and Bursaries
Each year, the College awards a number of Academic, All-Rounder and Music scholarships. It is our aim to help students who, without our support, might not be able to avail themselves of the opportunities offered. We also understand that financial considerations may prevent boys from sharing in the experiences that we offer. In response to these considerations, the College also offers a number of bursaries, primarily for those parents facing financial hardship.

Mr Alan Elder was born in Scotland and migrated to Australia with his parents at a young age. He attended The Scots College for all his schooling, graduating in 1944. He played 1st XI Cricket and was a member of the College Cadet Unit. After leaving school Mr Elder studied accountancy and retained a life-long love of the College, especially the Pipes and Drums. Mr Elder never married, however the significant bequest he left will allow his Scots family to remember him through the Lang Walker Business Centre.
