Bequests

By making a charitable bequest to The Scots College in your Will, you have the opportunity to make an enduring contribution to the advancement of our teaching, research and learning.  The gift will also honour you, your family or someone close to you, for generations to come.

A Will is a very personal statement and, as each individual’s circumstances vary, we strongly recommend you consult your legal advisor before drafting a new — or updating an existing — Will.

A bequest may include gifts of:

  • The residual of an estate
  • A percentage of an estate
  • A specific sum of money
  • A particular asset such as real estate, works of art, or shares

The Aspinall Society

Membership of the Aspinall Society is open to any member of the Scots community who has indicated their intention to remember The Scots College through a bequest.

The Society is named after Arthur Ashworth Aspinall, the co-founder and first Principal of The Scots College, who personified the values and academic rigour the College extends to Scots boys today.  The Society honours Scots’ bequestors and celebrates Reverend Aspinall’s leadership and vision for the future of the College.

By informing the College of your intended bequest, you automatically become a member of The Aspinall Society which enables us to thank you for your generosity during your lifetime.

Donor anonymity will be provided if requested.

How to include The Scots College in your Will

If you choose to make a bequest to The Scots College, you continue to have the use of the asset during your lifetime.

If you have decided to make a gift to the College in your Will, please let us know by completing a Bequest Form. This form is a statement of your present intentions and can be modified in the future should your circumstances change.

It is an easy process to include a gift to The Scots College in your existing Will. To do this it is necessary that you complete a Codicil form and have it witnessed by two people; the signed Codicil form is then retained with your Will.

To assist you with this process please print and complete the forms provided.
