“A Scots education brings the students into contact with the brightest researchers, practical achievers and creative dreamers, and trains them in the type of critical thinking that leads to significant advances in knowledge and understanding."
Dr Ian PM Lambert, Principal

The College’s continued focus on sports and academic achievement across the board has seen us excel in a number of areas.

The 2019 HSC cohort consisted of 181 students eligible for an ATAR. From those students, 11 boys reached the Premier’s All-round Achievers list (all Band 6) with eight boys receiving an ATAR over 99. Additionally, 42 boys in the cohort received an ATAR over 95. This is an outstanding achievement.

Four HSC students were awarded state rankings in Advanced English, Ancient History, Indonesian Extension and Mathematics.

In the Arts and Design (Creative Arts) faculties, the 2019 students excelled yet again achieving the following showcase nominations:

  • 6 Visual Arts: ARTEXPRESS
  • 5 Drama: OnSTAGE
  • 4 Music: ENCORE
  • 3 Design and Technology: SHAPE

"The graduating Class of 2019 were a very focused cohort who, whilst a collective of distinct individuals, supported one another across all their endeavours at the College." Ms Andrea van den Bol, Head of Curriculum

NAPLAN Results

The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) commenced in Australian Schools in 2008. Each year, all students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 are assessed in May using national tests in Reading, Writing, Language Conventions (Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation) and Numeracy.

The overall NAPLAN results for 2019 are very positive for The Scots College, with the Years 3 and 5 cohorts charting the most significant growth.

Highlights from the 2019 results include a substantial improvement in Numeracy, especially in Years 3, 5 and 7, with Year 9 remaining well above state average.
