Cadets

The Scots College Cadet Unit (TSCCU) is one of the main co-curricular activities offered to students. TSCCU complements the educational aims of the College by assisting each student to develop to his full potential in a Christian environment which is warm, caring and stimulating. It is also confidence building and imparts important leadership training.

TSCCU provides cadets with educational activities and experiences that they would not normally encounter in their daily life at the College, and aims to build on the outdoor experience gained at Glengarry. Further, TSCCU aims to equip each cadet so that, at the completion of his training, he will possess the skills and values necessary to take his place in society as a responsible adult.

The primary ethos of TSCCU is service - to the Nation, the College, the Unit and to comrades. This emphasis on service requires a cadet to embrace and foster a range of personal qualities, including discipline, respect, professionalism and the maintenance of standards. The ethos of Cadet service is embodied in a set of shared values. These values can be summarised as: The Will to Win, Dedication to Duty, Honour, Integrity, Loyalty, Mateship and Teamwork.
